Sheriff Gary “Stitch” Guillory

As Sheriff, I respect your right to access public information. The determination of what is and is not a public record can be complex, even for our staff who deal with these issues regularly. In an attempt to make the process user friendly, we have partnered with a web-based company, GovQA, to provide a streamlined process. The goal is to make it easier for you to request a record and to better enable CPSO staff to respond. Below there are two links. If you have already made a request and want to check on its progress, click on the “My Records Center” link and it will take you to your account where you can view your requests. If you want to make a request, click the “Submit a Records Request” link. If you have a question, call the CPSO Records Department at 337-491-3642 and they will try to help. However, before you call, give the website a try. I think you will find it is easy to use and that it will automatically take you in the proper direction based on the information you provide.

NOTICE!
Any public request made, itself becomes a public record that must be retained. However, we will
never voluntarily release any personal information from a requestor, such as address, phone, date
of birth or driver's license number.
